30 Inch Tall Mounting Block
37 Inch Tall Monster Mounting Block

Tall Mounting Blocks

Picture
This stair block works for even the tallest horse (like our 17.3 Hanoverian).  It's 30 inches tall.

Made from 2 ready-made 3-step stair stringers ($11 each), but turned upside-down to be steeper and taller.

Has non-skid strips on each step.

The little feet add stability to avoid tipping.

Solid, but portable.

Also good for your friends or the trainer to sit on!

Monster 37 inch Mounting Block

Super-tall mounting block!  Can't spend $369.99+ on a 4-step mounting block?  DIY!
This is made from repurposed lumber from our fabulous local Resource recycle center.

Even bigger and taller - 37 inches tall!  That's big enough for 18.2 draft horses as well as little 17.3 warmbloods.
There's a rubber mat screwed to the top for boot-wiping.
The steps are 2 feet wide and 8 inches deep.
This is really 2 constructed parts - steps and "table".  The wide (10 inch) ledger/header board connects the two parts.
And in fact can be disassembled if needed - separating the steps from the "table" by unscrewing 6 screws.

I used these heavy structural wood screws for the attachment:

They cost more but are strong and easy to use.

The stair attachment with 3 vertical screws is inset from the platform leg attachment. These are screwed into the header board from opposite sides.

Not as portable but I want to add wheels like these concepts:

Portable Tall Mounting Block. Retractable wheels (shown here ready to roll), removable poles, easy to move by 1 person (rickshaw style)

Tall as a Barrel is Long

Sometimes you have to improvise! This is a sturdy barrel. I might use a strap to attach it to the mounting block around the top step if we have do this more often.....

Not the most stable option, but rotating a standard 3-step block works in a pinch to give you several more inches of height.
